One of the very first things I did when I started Spruce was trademark a phrase: Bring Water to Life. It became the beacon for everything that followed, and it means three things.
1. Make water something you want to drink
I love water. I also love a good drink. And the honest truth is that most of us don't drink anywhere near enough water, because plain water can feel like a chore.
So the first job was taste. Flavours that are grown-up, refreshing and made from real fruit, with zero sugar. Not something that masks your water, but something that makes you reach for the next glass.
Little sachet, big glass energy.
2. Show water some respect
Water is pretty awesome, let's be frank. It covers over 70% of the planet, and I loved learning about the water cycle as a kid: that endless loop that keeps going whatever we do.
It's also therapeutic. The sound and smell of crashing waves has to be one of the most refreshing things there is. And hangovers can't swim.

Yet a lot of the water we drink travels a ridiculous route: sourced in one country, bottled in another, shipped somewhere else again, often with dodgy additives or wacky colours along the way. I wanted Spruce to sit closer to the water cycle. You just add water, and the best water is the one coming out of your tap, at home, at the office or at the gym.
3. Fewer bottles for Mother Nature to deal with
Most of us now think about the small things we can do every day, and those small things add up. But it shouldn't all be on you. Brands have to give people a better choice, and that's what Spruce is for: a sachet, your tap and your favourite glass or reusable bottle.
Our paper sachets help you cut down on plastic waste, and every sachet mixed with tap water is potentially one less bottle bought.
Spruce alone won't clean the oceans. But it makes the better choice the tastier one. So, as the great RuPaul might say: sachet away.
